Hosted by Joshua Moses, Swamped is a new podcast series that tells the stories of experts confronting situations where they feel that their training, skills, and knowledge are tested in extraordinary ways.
Disaster responders, emergency medical workers, firefighters, conservation biologists & others will share experiences where their knowledge, skills, and expertise are stretched beyond their limits, and they are forced to rethink their understanding of themselves–and the world. Most of us have been in situations where we feel there is no way way forward or backward.

Joshua Moses
Joshua teaches anthropology and environmental studies at Haverford College. His book, Anxious Experts: Disaster Response and Spiritual Care from 9/11 to the Climate Crisis will be released in Spring 2022 by University of Pennsylvania Press. He has worked in Alaska and the Canadian Arctic for over 10 years. Joshua spends much transforming the ways we are (or are not) preparing each other for futures that society itself struggles to imagine. He has a 5-year old daughter, plays the accordion, and spends as much time with trees and mountains as possible.
